A new season is about to begin, which means its time to announce the upcoming balance changes.The next season begins on November 27th, and with its launch we are planning to adjust the talents and core stats of several units as well as the hero Trickster.List of Changes: UNITSBruiser (Buff)Overall, this unit falls slightly behind others of a similar class, such as the Robot or the Genie. We will improve its base stats to make it more competitive. Separately, there is an effective control-based deck with higher performance, but that is a different case we plan to review later.Tesla (Buff)Similar to the Bruiser, this unit loses some of its efficiency, especially on later waves. To improve its performance, we will strengthen the Professor talent, which directly affects Teslas late-game effectiveness.Riding Hood (Buff)At lower levels, this unit appears weaker than its peers and requires more skill or board control. However, near level 15 her performance becomes comparable to the Robot. Therefore, the buffs will target early levels to smooth out her power curve.Franky & Stein (Talent Adjustment)Fully Charged talent Unlike purely damage-focused units, Franky has a more complex and layered mechanic. We want to preserve her uniqueness while making her stronger. This talent will receive an additional effect that temporarily paralyzes several enemy units. This reinforces her role and makes her more appealing in the Aggrogeddon mode.Genie (Nerf)Even after leaving the Pantheon, the Genie continues to compete strongly, and is expected to grow even stronger after the Version 34.0 crit-damage reduction (since many talents of top units rely heavily on the crit).This adjustment slightly reduces his high-level damage to keep the Genie in line with the rest of the roster without making him weaker than units outside the Pantheon.Hunter (Nerf)Thats unexpected, we know. We are working on broad gameplay changes for Version 34.0, and planning to revisit older units next year. Among these units, the Hunter stands out he will receive a slight nerf to give other units more room to be used in the early stages of the game.Important:Expect further changes to other units one season later. Spells, Artifacts and PerksLast week, we told you how your crit will evolve through Legendarity. Now its time to dive into the details of spells and artifacts the core elements of the new system that will let you create bonus combinations tailored to different decks, play a wider variety of units more effectively and finally fix some long-standing historical issues. First off... the problemsItems were originally added with a clear purpose. Over time, their mechanics grew more complex and were constantly tweaked, but eventually they turned into an overly intricate system that requires expert-level game knowledge to use efficiently.The real wake-up call came with the release of the Grimoire item, which was designed to work with Franky and some other units that rely on summoned monsters. Instead of players embracing this combo, even many highly experienced players didnt understand why theyd need Grimoire since we already have the bow. As crit scaled higher, the bow simply became stronger and if we were to make other items competitive, we wouldve had to invent increasingly convoluted rules to support alternative mechanics.The final and honestly the most important factor is that Rush Royale, as a game, is about units. We pour enormous effort into their mechanics and talents, you eagerly await every new unit and demand talents for the old ones. So when a new unit doesnt catch on, its a huge disappointment for us.Very often the reason a new unit stays on the sidelines is the need to farm the right faction, upgrade yet another item, and in the end it feels easier to stick with the old, fully-upgraded unit for which you already have everything. Mythic items were supposed to help, but even they didnt solve the diversity problem introducing them turned out to be a mistake. We thought they would fix faction dependency issues, but it simply wasnt enough. Whats the result?Items and enchantments are being replaced by abilities. They will give you far greater freedom and real unit variety. Were sure youll love how much easier it becomes to experiment with decks. How Abilities WorkThe item section in your deck will be replaced by a new one where you can set up to four ability slots per deck. They unlock gradually: The first slot unlocks after reaching 4000 trophies and a certain Legendarity value. This is where you place a spell an active ability you can trigger manually at the perfect moment. Spells have cooldowns, and their effects may completely turn the tide of battle.As your Legendarity grows, more spells will be unlocked, but you can still equip only one spell per deck. This means players with many legendary units will finally be able to choose the spell that best complements a particular units mechanics. Slots 2-4 are unlocked permanently when you first reach specific trophy milestones. These are for artifacts passive abilities that work automatically throughout the entire battle (similar to enchantments of yore). In Version 34.0, were launching around 10 abilities, with at least another 10 already in the pipeline for future updates! The first batch will include both the familiar and popular enchantments, and completely new effects and you wont have to hunt for them anymore. Once you hit the required trophy and Legendarity threshold, the ability simply unlocks, and you can slot it in. No more burning essences searching for the legendary Counterspell! Artifacts can still be upgraded with essences, so the familiar Essences Enchantments loop stays, but the whole system becomes as simple and straightforward as possible. Abilities are tied to the deck, letting you create truly unique builds: one deck for pure aggression, another for control, a third for survival each with its own set of abilities! Theres only one restriction: weve moved amulet mechanics into artifacts (and added new ones!), but youll be allowed to equip only one artifact that is an amulet equivalent per deck. This keeps the battlefield from turning into a blinking traffic light with three amulets and ruining the visual experience.PerksIn Version 34.0, were also simplifying items themselves: they will be replaced by passive account perks permanent bonuses that work all the time, for every deck, with no faction restrictions. Perks are presented in a handy carousel showing icons, current levels, and effect descriptions. Upgrading is one tap a random perk gets +1 level. They cover all directions: damage, economy, monsters, defense, etc. Perks level up using gold and perk fragments (all old equipment fragments will convert into the new unified perk fragments no more separate weapon/armor/amulet fragments). Maximum simplicity and clarity. Conversion details everything turns into useful resources for the new systems Items ready perk levels + fragments and gold for further upgrades Equipment fragments 1:1 transfer into new perk fragments Enchantments on items essences that go straight into artifact upgrades Item sets compensated with extra essence and hammersHeroic items (common and unique) stay exactly as they are except theyll be moved to the hero tab, and keep working as before. Prep tips how to get the maximum Should you keep upgrading items? Yes, feel free to do so! Every item and its level will be fully counted during conversion some of you will be able to max out the entire perk set of this version right away. Should you dismantle items? No. Dismantling currently gives only 50 % value; conversion will give 100 %. Will absolutely all essence spent on rolling items/enchantments be compensated? Not 100 %. Depending on your sets and enchantments, well provide separate additional compensations that may include unique items that cant be obtained any other way. In short Spells are introduced: they are usable in any deck; one well-timed spell can win you the fight. Only one spell per deck at a time. Items & enchantments turn into easy-to-get and upgradeable artifacts and perks using fragments or essences. Equipment fragments become perk fragments, essences stay both resources upgrade passive abilities. Switching to a different unit becomes much easier: no more faction hunting or enchantment rolling, plus you can now create your own unique winning combos!We know there are a lot of changes, and were doing everything to make the transition as smooth and comfortable as possible. However, the latter stands apart: it is a competitive mode where players test their skill and tactical decisions, and victory itself becomes the core value and the primary goal. Shard HuntingBonus trophies are no longer awarded for the first victory in this mode.Why?This is done to balance the sources of additional trophies and adjust the pace at which players progress through the ranking during the season. Legendarity The Evolution of CritWe are starting a series of posts about the major Update 34.0 which will see changes to the way the critical damage system works: from then on, crit will only increase from common, rare, and epic cards. Upgrading legendary units and heroes, however, will be granting legendarity an in-game stat that unlocks access to unique abilities: spells and artifacts. Why are these changes necessary?We are not removing critical damage, or any other damage for that matter progression is evolving to offer not just damage increase, but real tactical diversity. Critical damage increase will now be limited, but a new opportunity will emerge for unlocking deck potential and gameplay variability with different decks legendarity. Experienced players will be able to unlock the potential of multiple decks, customize each one individually, and switch between them depending on weekly modifiers, while newcomers will be able to progress more predictably and consistently in the game. There's still time before release in this series of posts, we'll break everything down step by step so you remain in the loop. What is legendarity?This is an account progression stat that is increased as you level up legendary units and heroes. Each increased level provides an increase to this stat. And it's not just a number showing power level it's a tool that allows you to unlock abilities (spells and artifacts) that can be equipped to each deck and used in battle. We'll cover the abilities in detail (their capabilities, the unlocking of slots and legendarity) next week. Why implement legendarity?It will turn upgrading legendaries from "just add more damage" into a tool for diversity: you will be able to effectively upgrade different decks and legendary units, unlocking new tactical possibilities. This change will also positively impact matchmaking: upgraded players will have significantly more potential opponents, making matches more dynamic and exciting.Legendarity is among the primary changes, but far from the only one. Its introduction became the starting point for refining other systems so that all game elements harmoniously complement each other. We'll be covering all the changes in detail in subsequent posts.Key changes in Version 34.0:Critical Damage will remain, but will only be earned from upgrading common, rare, and epic units, heroes, and defenders. Legendary units and heroes will receive the "legendarity" stat, which unlocks access to unique abilities and artifacts.Items will no longer be tied to factions. They will be converted into passive abilities for the account, allowing you to build any decks without restrictions.Since the critical damage is altered, the Pantheon bonus will change accordingly: after the update, it will be provided only as pure damage (a damage type that ignores all enemy abilities and effects except their health pool), and will become noticeably stronger for all units in it. Matchmaking changes: when searching for a match, not only trophies and critical damage will be considered, but also the overall upgrade level of units, heroes, and legendary unit/hero abilities in your deck. This will allow matching players to those with more similar account progression and deck power.Everything you've accumulated will not be lost it will be transformed to fit with the new system. We're also preparing a conversion for a smooth transition we will tell you more about it sometime closer to release.We'll be breaking down all the details in this series of posts, so share your questions and comments if something piques your interest or raises questions.
