LETTER FROM THE GAME DIRECTOR Hello Psy Captains.First of all, I'd like to thank you all for your loyalty. Mutants: Genetic Gladiators has just reached its 12th birthday, and your continuous presence and support are what keeps this game running. This semester, we've been making choices about the direction we want to take the game, and your feedback has been very positive about these changes. Let me explain it a bit more in the following sections below. Grids and Mutants These last few months, you probably saw Mystery Week events far more often than in previous years, and this will continue in the coming weeks, with new and returning Mystery Weeks, including the Autumn Solstice, Oktoberfest, but also Science Week.As planned and announced, we chose to completely rework the way the usual annual bingo grid works, to create more bingo grids for you to fill and get rewards from. Some of you acquired quite a number of Mystery Tokens, which will be usable by the end of the year, to get your hands on the 2025 skins you missed. Curbing the Cheating Since my last letter, we have taken several measures to fight cheating more efficiently than before. Thanks to this, we managed to find and ban more cheaters than ever, but it's not over as long as cheaters remain in the game. We plan to take several additional measures to get rid of these players who make others experiences worse. That's also why we reintroduced Medlabs in a more controlled way, to prevent cheaters from exploiting their way back up the ladder. Narrative Density Over this year, we chose to offer you extra narration and dialogues, to make the events more immersive than before and to have more ways to tell the stories we want to tell. The feedback you gave us about it encourages us to keep this direction for now, and to add new story patches and narrative events over time. This year, many parallel events have taken place, leading to new enemies and allies coming to shake things up in Genetic City. Mutant Design As many of you have noticed, we expanded the number of artists who work on mutant and skin designs. According to your collective feedback, the increased variety of designs is appreciated by a large part of this wonderful community. This also allows us to have artists working on different kinds of mutants, better fitting their personal styles, while keeping an overall coherence. Tipping the Scales In the first half of 2025, we decided not to push multiple balance updates after January, to observe how PvE and PvP would evolve with the improved number of new mutants and skins we introduced. While we're quite pleased with how things are currently evolving and with your enthusiasm for new mutants, there are still some changes we plan on implementing over the course of the last four months of 2025. Technical Aspects This year, the game has suffered from some technical difficulties. We're constantly working to make sure the game runs as smoothly as possible on all platforms, but sometimes technical problems cannot be avoided completely, especially as we're working with multiple partners between server providers and the different platforms the game is running on. STATUS UPDATE #4: MOVING FORWARD Hello Psy Captains,Heres a recap of last weeks events: Monday, August 11 6:00 PM CETOur hosting provider performed an unplanned emergency maintenance, which unfortunately took all games offline the now infamous coffee break incident. Tuesday, August 12Most games, including MGG, came back online but access to MGG remained blocked. dev team and the hosting provider made this their top priority, investigating multiple possible causes. Wednesday, August 13After ruling out many leads, the team finally managed to get the game accessible again. Thursday, August 14The game was live, but players reported issues: difficulty logging in, no available PvP battles, disconnections, and unsaved progress. While progress was being made, July 15th being a public holiday in France meant we had to hold off further fixes to avoid worsening the situation. Friday, August 15 Sunday, August 17The game remained unstable: a small group of players could play normally, others experienced lag and bugs, and most couldnt access the game at all. Whats the plan for this week?First, we want to sincerely apologize for this extended downtime. A mix of vacation schedules, the emergency maintenance from server provider, and the public holiday made it impossible to fully resolve the issues within a week. We know how much the anniversary event means to you with its great deals and key moments in the global storyline and were deeply sorry for the delay.Heres whats next: The first part of the anniversary event will be extended at least until Wednesday, and longer if needed, until the incident is completely resolved. Once all players have stable access, well publish a final status update with a compensation gift before launching Part 2 of the anniversary. During Part 2, well rerun the Evolution Center Discount at the same rate as the one disrupted by the incident.Thats where we stand right now.
