Relive the classic arcade thrill with Spy Hunter, a legendary vertical scrolling action/driving game that puts you in the driver's seat of an armed sportscar! As a top-secret spy, your mission is to navigate treacherous freeways, destroying as many enemy vehicles as possible while diligently protecting innocent civilian cars. Viewed from a classic top-down perspective, every moment is packed with high-stakes action and strategic vehicular combat.

The game begins with you commanding the fictitious G-6155 Interceptor. But beware! Various enemy vehicles will relentlessly try to destroy your car or force it off the road, including a menacing helicopter that drops bombs from overhead. Your score increases as your car speeds along the road, and additional points are earned by strategically destroying enemy vehicles with your weapons or by forcing them into spectacular crashes off the road. After an initial lead-in period with unlimited cars, you must earn extra vehicles by achieving high scores. Be careful: destroying non-enemy cars temporarily halts your score counter, and no points are awarded when your car is off the road. Your vehicle can be destroyed by a hard collision or by enemy weapons, including craters blasted into the road by the helicopter's bombs.

Periodically, you'll encounter forks in the road, allowing you to enter new 'territories' with different terrain and weather conditions. Enhance your firepower by visiting the Weapons Van, which appears in each new territory and can be summoned periodically. Three special weapons are available: oil slicks to send foes spinning, smoke screens for evasive maneuvers, and surface-to-air missiles for airborne threats. Each has limited ammo and is lost if your car is destroyed. Your dashboard clearly indicates which weapons are active and available.

For a unique twist, you can even convert your car into a high-speed go-fast boat for brief periods! Drive through special boathouses that infrequently appear at the side of the road, then prepare to engage two different types of enemy boats on the water. Master land and sea to become the ultimate Spy Hunter!
