The objective in each dealing is to minimize your points by forming "groups" (three or more cards of the same rank) or "runs" (three or more consecutive cards of the same suit). Players are dealt seven cards and take turns drawing from the pack or the discard pile, then discarding one card. The game continues until a player "closes" the dealing by melding at least six cards, receiving negative points for doing so. Players are eliminated once their score exceeds a pre-agreed limit, with the last player remaining declared the winner.
