Previously, "Play-Doh Touch" offered a unique way to bridge the gap between physical and digital play. Children could create a world of hands-on adventures and watch their physical Play-Doh creations come to life virtually in ways beyond imagination.

How it Used to Work:

1. SHAPE: Kids would sculpt a creation with Play-Doh modeling compound and place it on a white surface.
2. SCAN: Using their device's camera, they would scan their creation into the Play-Doh TOUCH app to see it magically appear in a virtual world.
3. EXPLORE: Children could then explore all the creative possibilities within the app, continuing to shape and scan new Play-Doh creations to build their own unique virtual world.

When used with the Play-Doh TOUCH Shape to Life Studio (sold separately), the app allowed for even more interactive experiences:

• Create virtual friends with character stampers to explore unique worlds and personalities.
• Use action stampers to see exciting effects on other creations within the Play-Doh TOUCH app.

The Play-Doh Touch app was designed specifically for use with Play-Doh modeling compound. It was free to download, with additional virtual worlds (Water World, Cave World, Forest World, Desert World, Cloud World) requiring a purchase either through in-app purchases or by purchasing a physical Play-Doh TOUCH Shape to Life Studio with a character stamper.

Important Technical Details (for historical context):

The app required an Internet connection (3G, 4G, LTE, or WiFi) for downloads, updates, new content, and in-app purchases. It was compatible with Android 5+ on specific devices including Samsung Galaxy S6+, Samsung Galaxy Note 5+, HTC One M9+, LG G4+, Motorola Droid Turbo 2+, Huawei Google Nexus 6P+, and Google Nexus 9+.
