Players compete through five repeated rounds, alternating between these two exciting formats.

The Game of Minuses:

Each player begins with 13 cards (A to K, no Jokers). The game starts with the 2 of any suit. Players must follow suit if possible; otherwise, they can play any card. A 'Hand' consists of four cards played. The player who leads a Hand can play any card, and the Hand is won by the player with the highest-valued card of the suit led. Points are scored negatively, with certain cards carrying specific 'minus' values (e.g., King of Spades: -16, Queen: -6, other cards: -2). The goal is to accumulate the fewest negative points, or even score positively if possible!

The Game of Sevens:

In this strategic sub-game, each player also receives 13 cards. The game begins with the 7 of Diamonds. Players must then place cards of the same suit in ascending or descending order next to the last card played. Alternatively, a player can open a new sequence by playing another 7. If a player has no playable card, they must request a card from the previous player, and so on. The game continues until only one player is left with cards. Points are awarded based on the order players finish their hands: 32 points for first, 16 for second, 8 for third, and 4 for the last player.
