The Midas Ant, aptly named the 'Gold Hoarding Ant,' uniquely incorporates gold into their colony, storing it in nurseries and actively monitoring it throughout their tunnels. While its precise purpose remains a mystery, feeding small amounts to larvae results in 'Mercenary' ants—specialized soldiers twice the size of regular ants, forming independent, formidable units.
