Indian Rummy is typically played between 2 to 5 players, with each player dealt 13 cards. For 2, 3, or 4 players, two 52-card decks (104 cards) and 4 jokers (wild cards) are used. For 5 players, three decks (156 cards) and 6 jokers are used. The primary objective is to form valid sets and sequences (runs) from your 13 cards and be the first to declare.

Key rules include:

• Two Runs Minimum: You must form at least two runs (sequences).
• Pure Sequence (First Life): One of these runs must be a "pure sequence" (a sequence without any wild cards), known as your "First Life."
• Second Life: The second run can be either pure or impure (using wild cards).
• Minimum Length: Either your First Life or Second Life must consist of 4 or more cards.

At the start of each game, one card is declared as a Joker, which can be used as a wild card to complete sets or sequences (though sequences using a Joker are considered impure). To finish the game, you must declare your turn by successfully arranging all 13 cards into valid sequences and sets, with zero deadwood points, ensuring you have at least two sequences, one of which is pure.
