FreeCell Solitaire

Delve into the rich history of FreeCell Solitaire, a classic card game whose first computer version emerged on the PLATO system in 1978. It gained widespread recognition with its inclusion in Windows 95, captivating millions. Our modern rendition aims to recreate that full, beloved experience in a compact mobile package, adding clever twists for seamless play on smaller devices.

Enhanced Mobile Gameplay

We've integrated "power moves," helpful hints, and an accessible undo feature (typically found in the top right corner of the title bar). A standout mobile innovation is the intuitive drag-and-drop system: simply drag an entire column, and only the appropriate cards will move, with the rest snapping back into place. Cards will automatically move to the foundation whenever possible, streamlining your game. Our scoring system focuses on efficiency, counting only the number of moves – the lower your score, the better your mastery!

Understanding the Rules of FreeCell

  • Only the top (exposed) card of each tableau pile is available for play.
  • Cards can be moved to a foundation pile, a free cell, or another tableau pile.
  • Within the tableau, cards must be built down in sequence and alternating in color.
  • Any card can fill an empty tableau space.
  • Blocks of cards cannot be moved directly unless there are enough free cells and/or empty tableau spaces to facilitate moving each individual card. However, our game simplifies this: drag a whole pile, and the game will intelligently adjust.
  • Win the game by filling all four foundation piles (one for each suit, Ace to King).

If you find yourself stuck, utilize the hints or the undo function to backtrack and rethink your strategy. Or, simply start a new game from the menu. Download our FreeCell Solitaire and rediscover this timeless Windows classic, optimized for your mobile device!
