After successfully navigating the underworlds of Greek, Norse, and Egyptian mythology, HK discovers that his wife's research into the afterlife was true, and souls do exist beyond death. However, upon returning to his body, he realizes he has inadvertently caused a global pandemic through the explosion of his research machine, which released dangerous radiation. HK grapples with the guilt of his actions and ultimately reveals his involvement to other scientists, taking responsibility for the pandemic's origins.
