Court Piece, also affectionately known as Rung, stands as one of the most beloved and widely played card games in Pakistan and India. Gameplay & Rules

Court Piece is played with a standard 52-card deck among four players seated crosswise in two teams. Cards are typically dealt in batches (e.g., 5-4-4 to each player). The game centers around "trumps" and winning "tricks."

• Trump Calling: After the first five cards are dealt, the player to the dealer's left (the "trump-caller") announces the trump suit (Rung) for the hand. No other players can view their cards before the trump is declared.
• Trick-Play: The trump-caller leads the first trick. Standard trick-play rules apply: players must follow suit if possible. The highest trump card, or the highest card of the suit led, wins the trick. The winner of a trick leads the next one.
• Winning the Hand: The party that wins seven or more tricks wins the hand. A special bonus, known as "Kot" or "Kap," is awarded for winning the first seven tricks consecutively. Winning all tricks is an even rarer achievement called a "Bavney" or "Baunie."
• Under-Ten Rule: If the trump-caller holds no face cards among their initial five cards, they may call for a re-deal.
• Dealer & Trump-Caller Rotation: The initial trump-caller is chosen randomly. The role only passes to the next player if the trump-caller's party fails to win the hand.
