About the Game

Experience Bhabhi, the immensely popular card game from India, also known as Getaway! Played by millions across India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, this thrilling game is all about strategic discards and cunning play. Your objective is simple: be the first to "get away" by playing all your cards. The last player left holding cards is branded the "Bhabhi" (a term for "brother's wife" in Hindi, often used mockingly for the loser), signifying their defeat!

Gameplay & Rules

Bhabhi is a game of skill and quick decision-making, designed for up to 6 players. The game uses a standard deck of cards, dealt as equally as possible among players.

1. Starting the Game: Play begins with the player holding the Ace of Spades, who must lead that card.
2. Following Suit: Play continues clockwise, with each player attempting to throw a card of the same suit into the open pile.
3. Winning a Round: Once all players have contributed, the round concludes. The player who threw the highest card of the led suit starts the next round. (Aces are highest, twos are lowest.)
4. The "Thoku": If a player cannot follow suit, they must throw any other card from their hand – this is a "thoku." A thoku immediately ends the round, and the player who threw the highest card of the original suit must pick up all cards played in that round. This player then starts the next round. A key strategy is to use thokus to get rid of high cards at opportune moments.
5. Getting Away: As players successfully empty their hands, they stop playing. The game continues until only one player remains with cards – that player is the Bhabhi.
