I am trying to do level 12 screen 15 and I don't understand it.  Help!

Hi. I've been working on Level 17 for about a week now. You need to get 40 red gems with 19 plays. I can't remember what it's called, but it looks like most of the gems are covered with ice or glass. I'm having a hard enough getting down to 20 gems left never mind all 40. I don't have any helps with the Hand Switch or the Hammer or the other 2 in game. I don't have any extras before the game is started. Help would be appreciated. Thank you!
